Solid State Power Quality products
Solid State Power Quality solutions are semiconductor based technologies which are used to deliver harmonic current compensation and reactive power compensation,
Referred to as Active Harmonic Filters (AHF) and Static VAr Generators (SVG) they provide the ultimate in performance, response time and control.
They are an ideal solution for installations with a large amount of single-phase and three-phase loads generating harmonics, such as computers, UPS units, lights, lifting equipment, air-conditioning systems with variable speed drives, etc.
They can also be used in installations that require a good power quality for the purpose of increasing production efficiency and improve supply continuity in the system.

Capacitor-Based Power Quality products
Capacitor-based Power Quality Solutions include standard PFC systems, detuned PFC systems, and thyristor-switched PFC systems.
These are proven technologies, having been used for many decades. Nevertheless, they are a good solution when correctly specified.
Standard PFC is rarely appropriate due to increasing levels of distortion in electrical supplies, with detuned equipment being almost universally adopted. Detuned PFC is ‘more robust’ and suitable for use on supplies subject to low-to-moderate levels of distortion. Where distortion is high, an SVG or AHF solution should be employed.
Thyristor switched PFC can respond up to 100x faster than contactor switched systems, making it suitable where load levels fluctuate rapidly. The inclusion of detuning reactors supports application on distorted networks.
